Short Talk - Dorothy Gordon (Chair IFAP UNESCO)

Dorothy Gordon is the Chair of the UNESCO Information For All Programme and Board member of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, which facilitates the use of technology to enhance inclusive education. Her interest in purpose-driven innovation has led her to serve on a number of boards, judging and advisory panels, including the Linux Professional Institute, Yidan Prize, Creative Commons and the World Summit Awards. She is a strong gender advocate and supports the Open Movement and UNESCO’s ROAM Principles. She has worked in the field of international development and technology for over thirty years and is recognized as a leading technology activist and consultant on policy, education, technology and society globally, with a special focus on Africa.

Short Talk - Prof. Jandhyala Prabhakar Rao (Chair Information for Development IFAP, UNESCO)

Dr. Jandhyala Prabhakar Rao, Professor of Linguistics in the University of Hyderabad, is a Member
(India) of the UNESCO-IFAP Bureau. He has been nominated as Chair, Working Group on
Information for Development, UNESCO-IFAP. His innovative activities and initiatives in the IFAP
Priority Areas, such as Multilingualism, Information for Development, Information Ethics, etc.,
enabled him to build national and international network. Being a coordinator of several
national and international projects he dealt with multi-disciplinary topics and worked in multi-cultural
environment. He has presented and published several research papers on these themes which have
opened avenues for him to serve as Member of Editorial Boards of many Journals and academic
committees across the globe.
